Arizona Has Lowest Teacher Pay in the Nation

In case you missed it, 300 Arizona teachers protested Gov. Doug Ducey for his failure to adequately fund education in the state. Ducey’s cuts to education have resulted in the lowest teacher pay in the country, huge teacher shortages, and thousands more teachers who are untrained or underqualified. After West Virginia teachers successfully fought for higher wages last week, there is alreadyspeculation that Arizona educators may take similar action.
Governor Ducey refused to meet with the protesters and reportedly “snuck out the back door” to avoid an awkward encounter.
