WATCH: In Nasty NJ GOP Primary Debate, Candidates Find Common Ground on Defunding Planned Parenthood
Last night, New Jersey’s GOP candidates for governor met for another debate full of “Big, bitter moments” and “testy exchanges.” Even as the debate “devolved into shouting multiple times,” Bill Spadea and Jack Ciattarelli did find room to agree on one thing – defunding Planned Parenthood.
Moderator: “Would you continue to fund Planned Parenthood?”
Jack Ciattarelli: “[…] money that goes to advocating for abortion? No.”
Bill Spadea: “I will use a line item veto, and they will lose all their funding.”
“Bill Spadea and Jack Ciattarelli don’t see eye-to-eye on much, but they’re on the same page when it comes to using the governor’s office to go after health care providers and roll back reproductive freedom,” said DGA spokesperson Izzi Levy. “Spadea and Ciattarelli are too extreme for New Jersey, and neither can ever become governor.”
