Virginia Democrats Launch Tour Highlighting Winsome Sears Defending Trump’s Attacks on Virginia’s Jobs and Economy

The Dogwood highlighted today how Virginia Democrats will launch their “Real Issues” tour to hold Winsome Sears accountable for not only repeatedly supporting Donald Trump and DOGE’s attacks on Virginia jobs, but also mocking the concerns of Virginians who have been laid off — even saying that “the media is making it out to be this huge, huge thing. And I don’t understand why” and that job cuts were not “real issues” in Virginia.

The “Real Issues” tour comes as Virginia’s unemployment rate rose for the seventh month in a row and will spotlight residents like Colleen Jones, a former federal worker who lost her job and said: “It wasn’t just a job cut… It was basically a gut punch…”

Jones added: “It’s not just an individual’s job. It’s how many times they go out to eat in local restaurants, or whether or not they can afford to stay in this area.
