Chip in today to elect Dem govs >>
Democratic governors are leading in the fight against Donald Trump. With our two historic victories in Virginia and New Jersey, grassroots momentum is on our side! But this year, nearly 80% of the country is voting for a governor – and with Republicans already investing to beat Dem govs, early support has never been so critical. Will you donate to elect more Democratic governors who will defend our rights and freedoms and stand up to Trump?
VIDEO: The Tim Pawlenty Trump Two Step
Tim Pawlenty Is Trump’s Fairweather Friend
Ahead of President Trump’s visit to Duluth tomorrow, the Democratic Governors Association released a new video, titled, “The Tim Pawlenty Trump Two Step,” examining Tim Pawlenty’s awkward dance with Donald Trump. The video will be housed on PawlentyforGovernor.com and is the first in a series of videos on their fairweather friendship.
Tim Pawlenty is a former governor still trying to figure out who he is. In October 2016, as the entire political world predicted, he called Donald Trump “unsound, uninformed, unhinged and unfit to be President of the United States.” Just today, a Minnesota conservative commentator remarked, “Pawlenty’s campaign is already a disaster: insular, tone deaf, phony, filled with Never Trumpers. Pawlenty comes across as the Stepford Candidate.”
Now, waking up in the Trump-era as a candidate trying to win the Republican nomination, he’s changing his tune, touting the fact that he did vote absentee for Trump (before dumping him) and trying to make it seem like he’s been right by his side the entire time.

“Tim Pawlenty took some dancing classes while lobbying for Wall Street in D.C., and now he’s putting them to use in this gubernatorial campaign,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director David Turner. “ Trump supporters can see a phony in their midst from a mile away, and he can’t erase calling the President ‘unhinged.’ If Tim Pawlenty can’t stand by his principles, how will he stand up for Minnesota? His decision on whether or not to show up at President’s rally will be telling.”
