Scott Jensen Reveals Extreme Stance on Reproductive Rights: “I Would Try to Ban Abortion”
Last week, Scott Jensen, the frontrunner in the MN GOP primary for governor, revealed his extreme stance on abortion. In an interview with Minnesota Public Radio, Jensen vowed he would “try to ban abortion” in the state of Minnesota if Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court.
Jensen argued against abortion in all cases, saying, “there is no reason for us to be having abortions” He also made the out-of-touch statement that each abortion that takes place is a “viable newborn that may go on to be the next Albert Einstein.”
Meanwhile, Gov. Tim Walz has been a fierce defender of Minnesotans’ access to safe and legal abortion, vowing to veto legislation that further restricts abortion access in Minnesota.
“Jensen’s pledge to ban all abortion outright reveals how much is at stake in the Minnesota race for governor,” said DGA Senior Communications Advisor Christina Amestoy. “With Roe v. Wade threatened like never before, it’s critical that we reelect Gov. Tim Walz, who continues to be a champion for the right to choose. Minnesotans know how much is at stake this November and they won’t sit by and let their reproductive rights be stripped away by an extreme right-wing Republican.”
