RGA Chair Snubs Trump As Feud Continues
The Republican Governors Association’s feud with Donald Trump continued this week as new RGA Chair Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee refused to endorse former President Donald Trump in the GOP primary, saying “I have an obligation to not engage in the primary,” according to Politico.
This comes as the New York Times recently reported that “Trump’s political team…has told people it plans to not work with the Republican Governors Association because the group’s executive director has been an adviser to Gov. Kim Reynolds of Iowa, who endorsed Mr. DeSantis.”
In 2022, then-RGA Chair and Governor of Arizona Doug Ducey was in a nasty feud with Donald Trump, which ended up costing the RGA over $13 million in Trump-fueled GOP primaries across the country.
“The RGA has once again snubbed Donald Trump and continued the nasty public feud between the two for the third year in a row.” said DGA Communications Director Sam Newton. “There seems to be no end in sight to this nasty public battle that will only create more fundraising and recruitment issues for the RGA.”
