North Carolina Conservatives Slam Robinson for Ripping Off Taxpayers as His “Response Doesn’t Fit the Facts”
“It’s not Democrats who are pummeling Robinson. It’s conservatives delivering The Haymaker.”
As Mark Robinson is desperately lashing out in response to scrutiny of his role in Balanced Nutrition, a “seriously deficient” nonprofit that has been fined over $130,000, a new column from The Charlotte Observer explains why “Robinson’s response doesn’t fit the facts,” writing:
- “First, the compliance review carried out by the state Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is a standard procedure to ensure the accuracy of payments under the Child and Adult Care Food Program, a federal program overseen by the state. Second, the two individuals who have brought Balanced Nutrition’s problems to public attention are stout conservatives.”
One of the local Republicans calling out Robinson for his role in this scandal told the Charlotte Observer: “I’m just sick of dirty politicians. Just behave yourself and you won’t have a problem with little ol’ me…I’m doing what a good citizen ought to do: Keep an eye out for nonsense and call it out.”The column concluded: “It’s not Democrats who are pummeling Robinson. It’s conservatives delivering The Haymaker.”
“Even North Carolina Republicans are calling out Mark Robinson for his role in a failed nonprofit that now owes over $130,000 back to the state government after it got caught ripping off taxpayers,” said DGA National Press Secretary Devon Cruz. “It’s time for Robinson to stop the desperate finger pointing and come clean.”
