NEW REPORT: Mark Robinson Exposed for Secret 2021 Meeting with Ginni Thomas

New reporting from the Daily Beast reveals how North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson has further “embraced the role of a zealous 2020 election denier.”

According to the Daily Beast, Mark Robinson held a secret meeting with Ginni Thomas in March 2021, just days before he gave a speech falsely claiming the 2020 election was stolen, and proudly solidifying his support for the Big Lie by saying, “yeah, I said that.”

Robinson’s meeting with Thomas included a group she helped run, Frontliners for Liberty, which is known as a “key organizing venue for far-right activists nationwide working desperately to keep Trump in power—even after Trump was out of office.”

The Washington Post has previously reported how Thomas and allied far-right activists in her Frontliners group continued to work to undermine the election outcome despite legal challenges from election deniers failing in court cases across the country.

This comes as Robinson has continued to downplay the seriousness of the violence of the January 6th insurrection, claiming just last month that it was “this little minor thing.”

The Daily Beast also noted that “Robinson and Thomas both did not return requests for comment.”

“Details of Mark Robinson’s descent into election denial conspiracy theories proves yet again that he is too extreme and dangerous for North Carolina,” said DGA National Press Secretary Devon Cruz. “Robinson must be honest with North Carolinians, and explain how the Lieutenant Governor has any business meeting with a fringe, conspiracy-obsessed group working to undermine a free and fair election months after it was decided.”
