NEW REPORT: Christine Drazan Accepts Donation From Extreme Gun Manufacturers Group
A new report released today exposes Christine Drazan for accepting a $10,000 campaign contribution from the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) — an extreme and powerful pro-gun lobby group, where the CEO of “Daniel Defense — which made the gun used in the massacre at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, in May” sits on the board of directors.
Reporting notes that “the National Shooting Sports Foundation has close ties to the largest gun manufacturing companies in the country.”
Other reporting has noted how the NSSF is more influential than the NRA.
The extreme group has donated over $628,000 this cycle to some of the most extreme GOP candidates running for office. On their website, they praise Drazan’s anti-public safety stance, including her opposition to red flag laws.
The reporting follows a report highlighting how Drazan’s support for laws that would make it easier for criminals to carry guns would make crime in Oregon worse.
“Just like her MAGA allies, Christine Drazan puts the interests of the powerful gun lobby ahead of Oregonians’ safety,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Sam Newton. “Drazan will put the CEO’s of gun manufacturers and their extreme interests ahead of the safety of families and kids in Oregon. Tina Kotek is the only candidate in the Oregon governor’s race with a comprehensive plan to ensure Oregonians are safe in their communities.”
