Missouri Ranked Among Top Ten States to Start a Business
According to a national study, Missouri is one of the best places in the nation to start a business. The Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity ranks the Show-Me State sixth for business start-ups in 2011.
GM, Ford and Boeing’s expansions in Missouri are a big part of that, because they’ve attracted suppliers and contracting businesses. New bio-tech, life sciences and agriculture businesses are also contributing to the new sectors of the state’s economy.
The report cites Missouri’s low taxes, low electricity costs and recent pushes by the State Legislature to make the state more business friendly as other reasons for the high ranking.
