MinnPost: “Walz takes on the GOP on IVF”

DGA Chair MN Gov. Walz: “I want to make sure governors educate people that when you elect a governor, they appoint judges that can rule on reproductive health care.”

After the recent Alabama Supreme Court decision, which threatens access to IVF for millions of families and is the latest attack on reproductive rights, DGA Chair Minnesota Governor Tim Walz spoke with MinnPost for an interview to slam the decision, discuss his family’s personal experience with IVF, and how Democratic governors are protecting reproductive freedom both through signing legislation and appointing judges.

Yesterday, Gov. Walz appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe to discuss the DGA’s Power to Appoint fund, which highlights the importance of judicial appointments at the state level and how Democratic governors are appointing judges committed to protecting Americans’ reproductive rights and following the constitution. Gov. Walz warned of the Alabama decision, stating: “If you had a Democratic governor in Alabama, we wouldn’t be having this decision.”
