Mark Robinson Proudly Declares His Support for Ending Early Voting and Restricting the Right to Vote

Robinson: “I’m in favor of getting rid of early vote…”

As early in-person voting begins in North Carolina today, CBS 17 reported on comments from Mark Robinson proudly declaring his support for ending the state’s early voting period, yet another way that Robinson has outlined attacking fundamental rights if he were governor.

At a recent campaign event, Robinson spoke to a group of supporters and said, “I’m gonna tell y’all this. I’m in favor of getting rid of early vote…”

Robinson’s attack on the right to vote builds on his attacks against the right to choose, something he’s made a fundamental part of his campaign. Previously, Robinson has outlined his plans to completely eliminate abortion rights by signing a bill that says “you can’t have an abortion in North Carolina for any reason.”

“Mark Robinson has made it clear that as governor, his agenda would include attacking the fundamental freedoms of North Carolinians like reproductive rights and voting rights,” said DGA National Press Secretary Devon Cruz. “Robinson’s plan to rip away fundamental freedoms is only one of the reasons why he is too dangerous and extreme to ever be the governor of North Carolina, and why North Carolinians will reject him come November.”
