Mark Robinson “Absolutely” Wants To Outlaw Abortion From The Moment of Conception

Robinson: “We got it down to 12 weeks. The next goal is to get it down to six, and then just keep moving from there…”

Newly uncovered audio from a campaign event reveals Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson reaffirming that if elected governor, he would continue working to further restrict reproductive freedom, saying, “We got it down to 12 weeks. The next goal is to get it down to six, and then just keep moving from there.”

The comments come after Robinson has tried repeatedly to mislead voters about his extreme agenda, bragging on conservative radio that “They think that I’ve changed my position. I have not changed my position. I’ve just changed…what I’m saying.”

This is just the latest episode in Robinson’s bad week, after he made national news and earned criticism from even his fellow Republicans for proposing arresting transgender people for which bathroom they use and suggesting they should instead “find a corner outside somewhere” — only to later get caught lying about what he had said, despite clear video evidence to the contrary.

“Lt. Governor Mark Robinson has spent his entire campaign pushing an extreme and dangerous agenda, and then trying to lie about it to North Carolinians every time he faces backlash for it,” said DGA National Press Secretary Devon Cruz. “It’s hard to say what’s worse: the toxic policies he’s pushing, or the fact that he doesn’t respect the people of North Carolina enough to be honest with them about where he stands.”
