ICYMI from MSNBC: Youngkin Caught on Video Admitting He’s Hiding Extremist Anti-Choice Positions from Voters

Latest News

In a video first aired on MSNBC’s The ReidOut with Joy Reid last night, Glenn Youngkin was caught promising to go “on offense” to defund Planned Parenthood and ban abortions if elected governor but revealed he’s purposefully hiding those views from voters to get elected. Watch the full clip here.

“When I’m governor, and I have a majority in the House, we can start going on offense,” said Youngkin in the video. “But as a campaign topic, sadly, that, in fact, won’t win my Independent votes that I have to get.”

Youngkin spent the Virginia GOP primary pandering to Trump’s base, and now he’s caught in a sticky situation — privately leaning into his extreme plans to bring Trump’s agenda to Virginia while desperately trying to appease Independent voters in public. Youngkin’s major revelation is leading to major national coverage from MSNBC, Washington Post, HuffPost, and more.

Youngkin knows his beliefs are completely out of step with most Virginians, which explains why his website still doesn’t have an issues page four months before Election Day. This video is further proof that his campaign messaging of being a truth-telling outsider was always a myth.

“Glenn Youngkin has pandered and flip-flopped at every turn throughout this campaign to hide his far-right plan to bring Trump’s agenda to Virginia, including banning abortion and defunding Planned Parenthood,” said DGA Communications Director David Turner. “This video makes it even more clear that Youngkin is an extremist who will do or say anything for his own political gain. Virginians deserve to know what other far-right positions Youngkin is hiding.”
