Govs Get It Done: Reminder – It’s Democratic Governors Who Are Saving Protections for Preexisting Conditions, Not Trump
In case you missed it, President Trump this morning falsely claimed that he was responsible for saving protections for individuals with preexisting conditions. In reality, President Trump is trying to dismantle the Affordable Care Act – the reason people are guaranteed health insurance protections.
So who is saving protections for individuals with preexisting conditions? That would be our Democratic governors who time and time again have proven to be the strongest line of defense against Trump’s harmful policies.
Since the 2018 suit seeking to overturn the ACA was filed, nine Democratic governors have signed legislation codifying preexisting condition protections into state law. These laws will ensure that individuals with preexisting conditions cannot be denied coverage if the ACA is overturned.
