 Throughout the debate, DeSantis was stuck on his heels and failed to get lift he needed

Tonight in the debate on Fox News, California Gov. Gavin Newsom skillfully demonstrated what sets Democratic governors apart from their Republican counterparts by completely demolishing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ record of failure and extremism.

DGA Executive Director Meghan Meehan-Draper released the following statement:

“Gov. Gavin Newsom just delivered a masterclass on why Democratic-led states are beacons of freedom and opportunity for Americans, while MAGA Republicans like Gov. Ron DeSantis are using their office to push extreme abortion bans, control how people live their lives, and sow division and chaos. Gov. Newsom also won tonight by exposing Gov. DeSantis for championing dangerous policies that are making it easier for criminals to carry guns, attacking public education, and denying health care to hard working American families.

 “Overall, this debate showed once again why voters across the country are choosing Democratic function and freedom over MAGA dysfunction and extremism – and the DGA looks forward to continue highlighting that core contrast to keep winning in 2024.”
