Gov. McKee Announces Tax Credit for Families of $250 per Child

Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee just announced he’s giving much-needed relief to Rhode Island families. This fall, working Rhode Islanders with kids will receive a state tax rebate of $250 per child up to three children.

Gov. Dan McKee said, “Supporting parents and their children with Rhode Island’s new Child Tax Rebate is a sensible and critical way to keep our economy growing.”

Nearly 115,000 Rhode Island households will benefit from the rebate that was created in the state budget Gov. McKee signed into law earlier this year. In addition to the tax rebate, the budget also included millions of dollars in targeted tax relief for families, veterans, local businesses and older adults.

“With Rhode Islanders struggling with rising costs, Gov. McKee is taking action to give working families relief,” said DGA Senior Communications Advisor Christina Amestoy. “Thanks to his leadership, parents will get a little extra breathing room, and the state’s economy can continue to thrive.”
