Gov. Glenn Youngkin Adds Even More Losses to His Failed Endorsement Record
Yesterday, Gov. Glenn Youngkin added another two losses to his growing losing streak after endorsing and campaigning for the Republican candidates in two crucial legislative special elections that Virginia Democrats won handily.
In 2023, Youngkin’s campaign to flip the Virginia Senate and maintain control of the Virginia House of Delegates failed miserably, due in part to his aggressive push to enact an extreme abortion ban if Republicans took control. That year, Virginia Democrats went on to win majorities in each chamber.
In 2022, Youngkin traveled the country to support Republican candidates for governor, endorsing and stumping for several candidates who went on to lose that November in states like Kansas, Michigan, Oregon, Arizona, Maine, Wisconsin, and more.
“Virginians continue to reject Republican efforts to push the Commonwealth in an extreme, right wing direction – no matter how much time Glenn Youngkin spends on the campaign trail,” said DGA National Press Secretary Devon Cruz. “Youngkin’s growing record of losses only underlines that Virginians are ready to elect a new Democratic governor this fall who will actually focus on addressing the biggest everyday issues facing families.”
