Gosar Believes DACA Recipients Should Be Deported; Does Ducey Agree?

Prior to the State of the Union yesterday, Arizona Congressman and right wing iconoclast, Representative Paul Gosar stated any DACA recipients invited to the speech should be “arrested and deported.” 

The comment went viral and drew immediate bipartisan condemnation, from Speaker Paul Ryan to Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin. However, in Representative Gosar’s home state, Arizonans heard nothing but crickets from Governor Doug Ducey.

“The condemnation of Representative Gosar was fast and swift from both parties. Yet, despite the more than 27,000 DACA recipients in Arizona, Governor Doug Ducey remains silent,” said DGA Communications Director Jared Leopold. “Doug Ducey should speak up and stand up to these offensive attacks on Arizona families.”
