Glenn Youngkin Representing RGA and Republican Governors’ Extreme Anti-Abortion Agenda At Black-Tie Gala Celebrating Fall of Roe v. Wade

Latest News

Tonight, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin will attend a black-tie gala celebrating the fall of Roe v. Wade and hosted by the radical anti-abortion group Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America.

The group supported a constitutional amendment to ban abortion nationally and opposes contraception, including IUDs and the morning-after pill.

Since teaming up at an RGA meeting last year, SBA’s far-right leader Marjorie Dannenfelser and former GOP Gov. Chris Christie have been coordinating with Republican governors on how to strip reproductive rights away.

In the event it wasn’t clear where the drive for a national abortion ban would come from, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell today said, bluntly, Republican senators would “prefer that this be dealt with at the state level.”

With GOP governors at the helm of the fight to ban abortion nationwide, Youngkin continues to travel the country as one of the RGA’s top anti-choice surrogates.

“Extreme anti-abortion groups are counting on the RGA and Glenn Youngkin to tout their dangerous goal of banning abortion nationwide,” said DGA Communications Director David Turner. “Will other Republican governors and gubernatorial candidates denounce this plan, or will they help push this extreme anti-choice agenda to rip away women’s freedoms?”
