We need to invest NOW to expand our map, win in battleground states, protect our blue firewall of Dem govs, and flip critical states from red to blue. Can Dem govs count on you to chip in right now?
Every State, Every Vote Statement on Trump Administration’s Refusal to Protect Americans’ Right to Vote
Today, during an interview with CNBC, White House economic advisor Larry Kudlow called Democrats’ fight to protect voting rights during the COVID-19 pandemic a “really liberal left” wish list item. The disturbing dismissal of a Constitutional right as a partisan agenda item comes hours after President Trump openly admitted that he supported blocking funding to the United States Postal Service as a way to prevent expanded vote-by-mail efforts in November, saying, “Now, if we don’t make a deal, that means they don’t get the money. That means they can’t have universal mail-in voting, they just can’t have it.”
Every State, Every Vote Co-Chair Oregon Gov. Kate Brown released the following statement:
“Larry Kudlow just told the national media what voters have known for years – the Republican Party and the Trump Administration do not give a damn about our democracy. Guaranteeing that Americans have the ability to make their voices heard without risking their lives is not about advancing a Republican or Democratic agenda – it is protecting the fundamental idea that this country was founded on. We must have federal funding to support expanded vote-by-mail so that all voters, regardless of who they cast a ballot for, are able to do so without putting their lives at risk this November. The Trump administration’s shameful attempts to block this effort should be seen as what they are – a direct attack on the American democratic system.”
