“Does Not Provide Specific Evidence” – Mark Robinson’s Stunt Press Conference and Lawsuit Slammed For Not Actually Providing Any Evidence
Today, Mark Robinson held a stunt press conference with a conspiracy theorist and “longtime tax deadbeat” lawyer to try to deny the bombshell CNN reportthat detailed how Robinson described himself as a “black NAZI,” called for the reinstatement of slavery and praised Mein Kampf in additional reporting from the Washington Post.
There’s just one major problem. Robinson didn’t actually provide any real evidence, as numerous outlets quickly pointed out:
- Associated Press: “[The lawsuit] provides no evidence that the network or Money schemed with outside groups to create what Robinsons alleges are false statements.”
- The News and Observer: “The lawsuit does not provide specific evidence as proof that CNN’s report was false…”
- WRAL: “Robinson has yet to provide evidence to back up his claims.”
- WUNC: “Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson has filed a defamation lawsuit against CNN and a former porn store employee over recent news reports, although his legal claims don’t include new evidence.”
- NC Newsline: “The suit does not provide any explicit evidence that Robinson was not responsible for the online posts, which included comments from the account calling themselves a ‘black NAZI’ and a ‘perv’ and expressing support for reinstating slavery.”
“Mark Robinson needs to cut the act, come clean, and finally explain himself and his actions to the people of North Carolina,” said DGA National Press Secretary Devon Cruz. “Just like Robinson has no answers for his disgusting and disturbing comments and no solutions for the biggest issues facing North Carolinians, he has no place anywhere near the governor’s office.”
