DGA Statement on Today’s Results of Chauvin Trial
Democratic Governors Association Chair Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham issued the following statement on today’s results of the Chauvin trial:
“Nothing can change the fact that George Floyd should still be alive today, but I hope today’s verdict provides some level of comfort and peace to George Floyd’s family and every community that continues to mourn his death. This verdict may bring relief today but it alone won’t bring about changes necessary for more accountability and justice. To best honor George Floyd’s life, we must all recommit ourselves to the work ahead to move us closer to a more perfect union.”
