DGA Statement on the Wyoming Primary
Today, Democratic Governors Association Executive Director Elisabeth Pearson released the following statement on state Rep. Mary Throne’s primary victory in Wyoming:
“Congratulations to Mary Throne on her primary victory in Wyoming,” said Pearson. “Mary is a bipartisan leader who will work to expand access to affordable health care, invest in education and grow Wyoming’s economy. Republicans are running a partisan campaign to drag the state further and further to the right, while Mary Throne has a record of working across party lines to solve problems for all Wyoming residents.
“Mary’s nomination also means Democrats set a new record this cycle for the most women gubernatorial nominees ever. We’re proud to already have 10 Democratic women gubernatorial nominees – the most for any party in American history. This year’s group of candidates are the most talented and diverse in the DGA’s history, and Mary Throne is another great addition the list.”
