Today, 2023 DGA Chair and New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy released the following statement on Maryland Gov. Wes Moore’s inauguration:

“Today, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore made history by becoming the state’s first Black governor and only the third Black elected governor in American history. 

“As a combat veteran in the U.S. Army, Gov. Moore learned to leave no one behind, and that’s exactly what he’ll do in his administration.  He’ll stand up for our country, protect rights, and be a champion for real solutions to the state’s biggest challenges like economic inequality, education, and public safety. 

“We congratulate Gov. Wes Moore on his historic inauguration and look forward to working by his side as he delivers bold progress for the people of Maryland.”
