DGA Statement on the Senate Voting to Confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court

DGA Chair North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper released the following statement after the Senate voted to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court:

“This week will be a landmark in American history as Ketanji Brown Jackson is confirmed to be the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court. Judge Jackson has demonstrated her extraordinary qualifications and exemplary character, proving that she will make an exceptional Supreme Court Justice. At a time when fundamental freedoms like the right to vote and the right to choose are under attack, Judge Jackson will be a vital addition to the court. We congratulate Judge Jackson and President Biden on this enormous accomplishment.”
