DGA Statement on the House Passing the Build Back Better Act

Democratic Governors Association Chair New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham released the following statement following the passage of President Biden’s Build Back Better Act in the House:

“In passing this historic legislation, President Biden is fulfilling his campaign promise to rebuild the nation’s middle class so that this time, everyone comes along. Americans in every corner of the country will feel the impact of this legislation — from lowering health care costs to making childcare more affordable to countless new jobs.

“Both the Build Back Better Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law speak to what we can achieve when leaders set differences aside and get to work for American families. That’s what people expect from their elected leaders, and it’s what Democrats are delivering. 

“Democratic governors laid the groundwork for these sweeping policies at the state level. Now, they will be trailblazers in turning the items of this legislation into tangible benefits that people can see and feel every day.
