DGA Statement on Republican Primary in Vermont
Tonight, Democratic Governors Association Executive Director Elisabeth Pearson released the following statement on Governor Phil Scott’s nomination in Vermont:
“Phil Scott has failed the people of Vermont,” said Pearson. “Governor Scott has failed to lead on the issues that matter to middle-class families. Scott oversaw a destructive budget crisis and has repeatedly vetoed bills that would have directly benefited working Vermonters, including paid family leave and raising the minimum wage. Vermont is ready for a change: The state deserves a governor that will represent its values and lead with a positive vision.”
