DGA Statement on Potential Gubernatorial Candidate Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Voting to Slash Medicaid and Food Assistance in Georgia
In response to potential gubernatorial candidate and Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene voting to pass a toxic budget bill that makes even deeper cuts to Medicaid and SNAP in order to give tax handouts to the ultra-wealthy, DGA spokesperson Kevin Donohoe released the following statement:
“As she openly considers a run for governor, Marjorie Taylor Greene today once again showed that she is too extreme for Georgia by voting to gut Medicaid for Georgians, all to give tax breaks to billionaires. Greene’s vote puts health care at risk for over 650,000 Georgians, endangers food assistance for nearly 1.4 million people, risks closing rural hospitals, and jeopardizes thousands of manufacturing jobs.
“Georgians deserve to know whether Chris Carr and Burt Jones agree with Greene and support this extreme bill that will hurt Georgians and trigger a budget crisis that the next governor will have to clean up.”
