DGA Statement on North Carolina’s GOP Gubernatorial Primary Results

Democratic Governors Association Executive Director Meghan Meehan-Draper released the following statement in response to Mark Robinson becoming the Republican nominee for governor in North Carolina:

“Lt. Governor Mark Robinson enters this general election with his toxic record on full display, including promising to pass a total abortion ban without exceptions, attacking public schools and teachers, pushing Big Lie conspiracy theories, and threatening to drag North Carolina back to the days of the state’s notorious bathroom bill that was projected to cost the state billions of dollars and thousands of jobs. Robinson could not be further out of step with the overwhelming majority of North Carolinians. Mark Robinson is bad for business, bad for families, and bad for North Carolina, and from now through November the DGA will be working hard to make sure North Carolinians reject his extreme and dangerous agenda at the ballot box.”
