WASHINGTON, DC—Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin, Chair of the Democratic Governors Association, today issued the following statement regarding Congressman Mike Michaud’s announcement that he’s opening a committee to explore a campaign for governor of Maine:
“Over his entire career in public service, Mike Michaud has been a champion for job creation, improving education, expanding access to health care, protecting the environment, and restoring middle class security. At a time when Maine’s families are in desperate need of strong, stable leadership in Augusta, Mike would make an outstanding governor.”
