DGA Statement on Kendall Qualls’ Entrance to Minnesota Governor’s Race
DGA Executive Director Noam Lee released the following statement after former congressional candidate Kendall Qualls announced his candidacy in the GOP primary for Minnesota governor:
“Kendall Qualls is yet another Donald Trump loyalist who wants to bring Trump’s extreme policies to Minnesota. He’s a failed political hack who’s out-of-touch with Minnesotans — that’s why he lost his congressional race by over ten points.
“Qualls’ entrance into the already crowded GOP primary will do nothing but push the entire field further into the fringe as the MN GOP desperately seeks a viable candidate.
“Meanwhile, Gov. Tim Walz is a champion of Minnesota values. While Republicans like Qualls duke it out for far-right support in their crowded primary, Gov. Walz is delivering for Minnesota families by expanding access to health care, investing in public education, and protecting access to the ballot box.”
