Today, Democratic Governors Association Communications Director David Turner released the following statement regarding state Rep. Jim Neely’s announcement that he is running for governor of Missouri:
“Mike Parson earned this primary challenge because of his record serving wealthy special interests instead of working Missourians. The Missouri GOP is deeply divided and will now have to spend time and money in a race to court the far right. The infighting will expose both candidates’ flaws and put a spotlight on both Parson and Neely’s broken promises to Missourians. We look forward to holding the eventual winner accountable for their out-of-touch positions in 2020.”
