DGA Statement on Deidre DeJear Becoming the Democratic Nominee for Iowa Governor
DGA Chair North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper released the following statement in response to Deidre DeJear officially becoming the Democratic nominee for Iowa governor:
“As a small business owner, Deidre DeJear understands that real change comes with hard work. She is running for governor to do the work that Republican leaders in Iowa have neglected, like investing in small businesses, expanding health care access, and improving public education.
“Deidre is also making history tonight as the first Black woman from either party to win the gubernatorial nomination in Iowa — and the DGA is proud to support her.”
