DGA Statement on Congress Passing the Inflation Reduction Act

From the Chair’s Desk

DGA Chair North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper released the following statement in response to the U.S. Congress passing the Inflation Reduction Act today:

“Today is a turning point for working families as Democrats in Congress took action to lower the costs of prescription drugs, health insurance, and clean energy — all while cutting the deficit, reducing carbon emissions, and without raising taxes on the middle class. Democratic governors are fighting for these same values and making progress on these same issues back home.

“Thanks to Congressional Democrats for their ongoing efforts on behalf of the American people and to President Biden for his leadership on this historic legislation. The DGA hopes to build on this progress by electing Democratic governors across the country this November.”
