DGA Statement on Chris Jones Becoming the Democratic Nominee for Arkansas Governor
The following is a statement from DGA Chair North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper in response to Chris Jones winning the Democratic nomination for Arkansas governor:
“Congratulations to Chris Jones on his historic win last night in Arkansas. Jones is a seventh-generation Arkansan whose optimistic agenda addresses the kitchen table issues facing Arkansas families.
“Jones is also making history in his victory as Arkansas’ first Black nominee for governor in a state that’s never elected a Black candidate to statewide office. The DGA looks forward to supporting Chris Jones as he continues to spread his positive vision to create opportunity and uplift Arkansans in every corner of the state.”
