DGA Chair Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly Makes the Case for Gov. Tim Walz on Face The Nation

In her first interview as Chair of the DGA, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly appeared on Face the Nation to discuss her new role, the importance of engaging in rural areas, and why Gov. Tim Walz is a “huge asset” to Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign.

After running two successful statewide campaigns in deep-red Kansas, Gov. Kelly knows the importance of showing up in every corner of the state, especially rural areas. As Gov. Kelly noted, “you just need to get out there, talk with them, get them to know you, you to know them, and then they’ll develop that trust and put it in you to run the state.”

Gov. Kelly also touted Gov. Tim Walz’s selection saying he “understands rural Minnesota, he understands rural America, and I think that’s one of the reasons that he’s a huge asset to the Harris-Walz team.”

She added, he’s “the epitome of the Midwestern dad,” saying “you could put him at any state fair, on any Main Street, and certainly in any Friday night football game in rural Kansas, and he would fit right in.”
