DGA Chair Governor Andy Beshear Statement on the State of the Union 

DGA Chair and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear released the following statement in response to President Trump’s State of the Union address: 

“While prices continue to rise and Americans struggle to pay their bills, this President remains solely focused on bringing chaos and division to our nation. Instead of helping families get ahead, Trump’s big ugly bill is ripping away health care and food assistance, his reckless tariffs are driving up costs, and his administration’s dangerous immigration tactics are creating an American body count.

“It doesn’t have to be this way. We have 36 governors races across the country this year, which means we have a huge opportunity to elect and reelect Democratic state executives who will lower costs, expand access to health care, protect our communities, and stand up to the President’s harmful and deeply unpopular agenda.

“Who your governor is matters more than ever and we look forward to building on our momentum from winning big in 2025 to go on offense in 2026.”
