DGA Chair Gov. Murphy Statement on President Biden’s State of the Union Address

DGA Chair New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy released the following statement in response to President Biden’s State of the Union Address:

“Tonight, President Biden outlined a positive vision to continue to grow the economy and make America more competitive, building on the historic success and remarkable progress made under his leadership.

“Since the President has taken office, Democratic governors have worked hand-in-hand to bring the benefits of the administration’s biggest accomplishments — like the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPs Act, and vital relief and reforms in the American Rescue Plan and Inflation Reduction Act — from the Oval Office to families in our states, including my home state of New Jersey. As a result, manufacturing jobs are coming home, the price of prescription drugs and health care is going down, and Americans are seeing more affordable child care and record investments in clean energy — all while we protect fundamental rights and our democracy.

“From Michigan and Wisconsin to Arizona and Pennsylvania, the DGA knows Democrats can win anywhere when we focus on delivering solutions to the biggest challenges facing families. The President’s speech tonight makes clear that’s exactly what he plans to keep doing.”
