Chip in today to elect Dem govs >>

Democratic governors are leading in the fight against Donald Trump. With our two historic victories in Virginia and New Jersey, grassroots momentum is on our side! But next year, nearly 80% of the country is voting for a governor – and with Republicans already investing to beat Dem govs, early support has never been so critical. Will you donate to elect more Democratic governors who will defend our rights and freedoms and stand up to Trump?

DGA Chair and Vice Chair Hammer Republicans’ Disastrous Budget Bill Set to Rip Away Health Care, Hurt Farmers and Small Businesses

Gov. Laura Kelly: “Make no mistake: this bill is a disaster for the economic health of our communities, our farmers, and our small businesses.”

As Senate Republicans stand poised to pass a disastrous budget bill that will gut access to health care and food assistance, DGA Chair Kansas Governor Laura Kelly and DGA Vice Chair Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear slammed this threat to the health and pocketbooks of hardworking Americans in their states and across the country.

Governors Kelly and Beshear sounded the alarm on the Republican budget bill, which makes it harder for families to go to the doctor, put food on the table, and run a small business – all in order to pay for massive tax handouts to the ultra-wealthy.

“As Democratic Governors, we represent the majority of the American people — in blue, in purple, and in red states,” said DGA Chair Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly. “Make no mistake: this bill is a disaster for the economic health of our communities, our farmers, and our small businesses. We will never stop fighting to protect and expand access to affordable, quality health care and food assistance in every corner of our states.”

“What this big, ugly betrayal bill will do is devastate healthcare across rural America…This is something that we should all be united against,” said DGA Vice Chair Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear. “The only loyalty test that should matter to Kentucky Senators and Representatives is the loyalty to their people. [They need] to say, we don’t want 20,000 people laid off, we don’t want 35 rural hospitals closed, and we believe that people should see a doctor in their own community — there’s nothing Democratic or Republican about that.”
