DGA Breaks Record and Raises Nearly $19M In the First Half of 2019

Individual donations grew by 47 percent to fuel new record

Today, the DGA announced it raised nearly $19 million across all entities in the first half of 2019, a new record for this fundraising period.
After a historic 2018 cycle, the DGA’s expanding donor base fueled the new all-time high. The number of unique individual donors grew 22 percent and number of individual contributions grew by 47 percent compared to the same period in 2015.
In addition, the DGA had a more than 28 percent growth in first time online donors, giving the organization an immediate return on its increased investment in its digital program.
Grassroots donors bolstered the DGA’s fundraising period as the DGA saw a 15 percent increase to grassroots money raised from 2015 to 2019. The average donation was $19.67.
“The DGA’s record-breaking fundraising haul will help us build the infrastructure to win competitive gubernatorial races in 2019 and 2020,” said DGA Executive Director Noam Lee. “With strong candidates this year and next, we are well positioned to add to the seven seats we flipped in 2018 while protecting our incumbents.”
