In response to today’s meeting at the White House in which President Trump and Vice President Vance publicly attacked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, DGA Chair Governor Laura Kelly, Vice Chair Governor Andy Beshear, Governor Tony Evers, Governor Bob Ferguson, Governor Maura Healey, Governor Kathy Hochul, Governor Lamont, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Governor Dan McKee, Governor Janet Mills, Governor Wes Moore, Governor Phil Murphy, Governor JB Pritzker, Governor Josh Shapiro, Governor Josh Stein, Governor Tim Walz, and Governor Gretchen Whitmer, released the following statement in support of President Zelensky and the Ukrainian people:
“Donald Trump and JD Vance used the sacred Oval Office to berate President Zelensky for not trusting Vladimir Putin’s word. Americans must protect our strong democratic values on the world stage instead of undermining President Zelensky’s work to fight for his nation and the freedom of his people after being invaded by Russia. We, along with millions of Americans, stand united with the Ukrainian people.”
