Ayotte Still Silent as Granite Staters Condemn Rep. Jon Stone
Nearly two weeks after it was revealed that Kelly Ayotte endorser Rep. Jon Stone’s “law enforcement career ended when he threatened to kill fellow police officers in a shooting spree, and murder his chief after raping the chief’s wife and children,” the Eagle Times is reporting that Granite Staters are speaking out against his horrific conduct and demanding his immediate removal — all while Ayotte continues to play politics and stay silent.
Of Stone, one Claremont resident said: “Those records painted an appalling picture of an unstable and violent man, whose behavior is frankly beyond the pale, not just for an officer of the law or politician, but for any person who holds a shred of decency, dignity or respectability.”
By contrast, Ayotte has repeatedly refused to condemn Stone’s threats of violence against New Hampshire law enforcement officers and their families. His name is still listed on Ayotte’s endorsement page on her website, and posts of them campaigning together are still live on her social media.
“By refusing to condemn Stone or renounce his endorsement, Kelly Ayotte is standing with a man who threatened a shooting spree and sexual violence over New Hampshire police officers and families,” said DGA States Press Secretary Emma O’Brien. “Ayotte should listen to the Granite Staters who have come forward to condemn Stone, and reject his endorsement once and for all. Every day she fails to do so further proves why she’s unfit to sit in the corner office.”
