VIDEO: Day 22: Three Weeks In, Rauner Cannot Escape Questions about Ives
It’s been three-weeks since the Republican primary election, and Governor Bruce Rauner’s failure to bury the hatchet with state Representative Jeanne Ives is taking its toll on the Governor’s reelection.
On Monday, Rauner wanted to talk about his legislative agenda, but he was instead bombarded with question after question about Ives and Republican disunity.
“Bruce Rauner could have reached out to Jeanne Ives three weeks ago, but he decided to ignore Ives and the 48% of Republicans who supported her” said DGA Illinois Communications Sam Salustro. “Now, questions about Ives and Republican disunity are threating to sink the most vulnerable incumbent’s reelection campaign.”
