Cooper Posts Record-Breaking Fundraising Numbers

Yesterday, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper reported record-breaking fundraising numbers and raising $4.5 million in the first half of 2019. The Cooper campaign has $5.6 million cash on hand.
Cooper continues to receive strong support among grassroots donors. 92 percent of contributions came from North Carolina donors, with nearly two-thirds of contributions under $100.
The fundraising total is more than twice what the Cooper campaign raised in the first half of 2015 and nearly three-and-a-half times more than then-Gov. Pat McCrory raised in the comparable time period in 2015.
“Gov. Cooper is receiving overwhelming support from North Carolinians because he has put their interests first,” said DGA Communications Director David Turner. “With his record of fighting for greater access to health care, increased education funding, and good-paying jobs, Cooper is in a strong position to win re-election in 2020.”
