Mystery Group’s One Million Dollar Ad Spend Hits Burt Jones for Enriching Himself in Office

The gloves are off! A new outside group — Georgians for Integrity — is spending nearly one million dollars attacking Burt Jones for his long record of enriching himself in office. The ad brutally goes after Jones for changing hospital rules to enrich his family and for ballooning his net worth while in office.

The ads directly echo attacks that one of Jones’ opponents, Chris Carr, has been making for months. In web videos and at candidate forums, Carr has repeatedly slammed Jones for abusing his office for personal profit.

Jones and his family are set for a big pay day from the construction of 13 “mammoth” data centers on a hospital that was made possible by a law Jones himself pushed for. And just this morning, the Georgia Recorder reported that the project is already raising concerns from community members over how much water and electricity it will use.
