We Can’t Make This Up…Jim Justice Ditched West Virginians To Defend Himself In Court

According to a new ProPublica/Charleston Gazette-Mail report, Jim Justice ended a press conference early so he could race across town to defend one of his embattled coal businesses in court. It’s clear that Justice remains a part-time governor because he’s only concerned about himself and not West Virginians.
Jim Justice previously argued it “doesn’t matter” where he works even though it’s specified in West Virginia’s constitution. One Republican state senator said Justice spends less time at the Statehouse than any governor he’s ever seen. As the Charleston Gazette-Mail Editorial Board put it, “He’s not fully invested in what he signed up for, and it hurts the state.”
“Jim Justice is too busy battling lawsuits from Trump’s Department of Justice to do his job,” said DGA Communications Director David Turner. “This report reconfirms Jim Justice cares more about enriching himself than the job he was elected to do. Jim Justice’s absent leadership has failed West Virginia.”
