Kim Reynolds Afraid of Own Education Record, Hides From High School Students

Education in Iowa Underfunded Under Reynolds

Governor Kim Reynolds’ record on education is so bad that now she’s even hiding from high school students! KWQC reported yesterday that when Governor Reynolds visited Davenport Central High School, students were not allowed into the event.
Reynolds must know that her record of underfunding public education goes over like a lead ballon with Iowa’s students—here are just a few reasons why: The Reynolds Budget Crisis has devastated Iowa’s public schools. Last year, her education plan was called “a crime” by one expert while parents said it was “dismal” and “not in the best interests of our students.” Her administration eliminated a third grade summer reading program, and her attacks on higher education have lead to tuition hikes and rescinded financial aid for Iowa students.
“You know your record must be terrible when you’re afraid to be in the same room as high school kids,”said DGA Press Secretary Melissa Miller. “But Governor Reynolds’ education record really is that bad. From an axed third grade summer reading program to tuition hikes at the state’s regents universities, students at all levels are feeling the impact of Governor Reynolds mismanagement and misplaced priorities.”
