This week, Democratic Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced a decision by Ford Motor Company to expand two of its facilities and establish a new center in Michigan, creating over 3,000 new jobs in the Detroit area. The well-paying, skilled jobs and $1.45 billion investment by Ford is thanks to Gov. Whitmer’s administration’s commitment to economic growth and the creation of high paying, skilled jobs in the state.

Ford Motor Co. is adding 3,000 jobs at two factories in the Detroit area and investing $1.45 billion to build new pickup trucks, SUVs, and electric and autonomous vehicles.

Ford Motor Co. on Tuesday received approval for up to $35.3 million in incentives from the state of Michigan to invest more than $1.45 billion in Wayne County manufacturing facilities that would add 3,000 jobs.
At Dearborn Truck Plant, Ford will add 300 jobs and invest about $700 million to support the production of new electrified variants of its F-150 truck, producing both an F-150 hybrid and fully electric F-150. Ford will also create a new operation for the assembly of battery cell packs in Dearborn.
