DGA Statement on Governor John Carney’s Re-election Victory in Delaware
Democratic Governors Association Chair New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy released the following statement on Governor John Carney’s victory in Delaware’s gubernatorial race:
“Congratulations to Governor John Carney on his re-election in Delaware. Governor Carney has provided Delawareans with strong, steady leadership throughout the pandemic, and he is the best person to lead the state out the other side.
“In his last term, Governor Carney fought for historic investments in public education and infrastructure, drove down health care costs, and boosted the state’s reserves. When the pandemic hit, Governor Carney led based on facts and science, and thanks to his leadership, the state was prepared from both a public health and a financial standpoint. His leadership was a lynchpin in the successful regional partnerships we forged with fellow governors to help us beat back the virus in the Northeast. I know that Governor Carney will continue to follow the science when it comes to the pandemic and will fight for progress in Delaware.
